Dear Ones,
The question has been asked about a certain group following a certain person's ideas and practices. The question is whether it is a beneficial energy transfer or a cult. The answer is, of course, it depends. It depends on who is interacting with this group and these ideas and this energy, because you will make of it what you will, according to your temperament, your choices, your intentions for this lifetime, the lessons you have chosen to pursue, your karma and of course your free will.
As with anything, you might ask yourself, "Why am I attracted to this? What am I hoping to gain?" Most people get in trouble trying to gain something for themselves rather than for others, and trying to get somewhere the easy way, without effort or doing the work. This is why people fall flat and why things will get harder for you when you walk in this expectant manner.
In this particular instance - although it extrapolates to all instances - many people have given much money to persons of this type in attempting to receive a transmission which will bring them to enlightenment (or so they say). It is of course a fine idea, that enlightenment can be bought and sold in this way. The appeal of having someone simply lay their hands upon you and give you what you seek? Well, that is as old as being born human and the craving for the perfect parental experience. Which nobody ever receives.
Do not mistake the longing for the possibility of eradicating the longing. Why would you think the path to enlightenment - which is after all the sense of freedom gained only through liberation from attachment to the human condition of desire - can be found in this way? It is kind of funny, if you think on it. It is really, as presented in this and many other places, just a big cookie to keep your sugar cravings intact. This is not to say that there is no energy transfer available. But nobody can guarantee what you make of it. Every human (and many other beings on this planet and in fact far beyond) gives of energy and shares it with others. You can give someone a bad day just by looking at them in a certain manner, you know this, correct? You can make someone's day better with a simple smile. (So, why wouldn't you? The question is begged.)
So we would say, if you go looking for personal salvation - perhaps you are trying to escape this place, or the pain and suffering inherent in the human condition, and who can blame you? - if you go looking at any price for something you want so badly in this way, then a blast of energy could expose you to yourself and it might not be easy to handle or beautiful to see. It might make you crazy for a while, or depressed, or feel lost even more than you were. But it also could give you a jolt and you might feel a sort of hopefulness for a while, that there is some way for you to walk out of here on a cloud.
Maybe it would be useful to reflect for a while on what it is you came here to do, and whether or not your mission, as it were, is served most properly in the hoping for someone to touch you into enlightenment? Perhaps - and we speculate here - your work here is to do the very hard thing of being present with yourself and with others, in as loving a manner as you possibly can muster, which, granted, will not seem like much at some times. And perhaps in this way you will find that to crave is to feel sickness and to generate goodwill for yourself and all beings is truly the work at hand. (How many people wish for enlightenment without being truly willing to
just love themselves as they are? How is that supposed to work?) And perhaps you will find that to look elsewhere is beside the point, and to look within your most sacred, pure and present heart (yes, that one right there, which you all too often discount) is really the most rewarding path of all. And maybe that will get you where you want to go.

Depression
Dear Ones -
Today we would like to correct some misunderstandings if we may.
Depression is not one thing. It is not a bad thing. It does not mean anyone did anything wrong. It is a coping skill, an attempt to deal with things that feel undealable-with. So, have a little space in yourself for your own depressive times and those of others.
What makes depression worse? Well, you all know the answers to this. It is worse when you hold it in and pretend it doesn't matter or doesn't happen to you at all. It is worse when you allow it a foothold in your mind without fighting back, fighting for your right to survive it. It is worse when you tell someone to just cheer up. Cheering up is not possible, nor is it an accurate prescription for what ails.
What makes depression better? Well, you know this as well. Getting out of the house and looking up at the sky and breathing air. Purpose. Intention. Will. Resting gently as opposed to sinking into the quagmire without lifting your hand as a signal, "Hey, I could use some help here..." Giving yourself or another one something encouraging like a pat on the back. Saying to yourself or another one, "Hey, I am here for you. I don't know what to do, but I won't look away. I will bear witness to your pain and I won't compare and I will agree it just sucks." Or something along those lines.
Depression is anger and sorrow and fear turned inwards, like a nasty ingrown hair. The skin of your psyche grows up around it, thick and irritated. Even when the pressure is relieved, the cause beneath the surface must be addressed. And nobody wants to do that, because it is ugly and it hurts. But oh, the soothing balm of a cool compress of compassion, the drawing out power of patience and the listening ear. What you hear and feel will never be as bad, we promise, as the attempt to not feel and hear and see it has been.
Sometimes the fear is the fear of failure, sometimes the fear of success. Sometimes the sorrow is of loss and transition, but sometimes one's own limitations - the inherent limitations in the human condition, we add - are the pain that cannot be borne. Sometimes it is just a way to survive. Deepen into the swampy place, breathe as little as possible, eat and drink the things that bring you sleep and nervous energy and oblivion.
But underneath it all, you are longing to be free, to love yourself and come out into your place in the world. And every moment this is true. And every moment brings an opportunity to touch that truth in you. Some days it is closer to the surface. Some days it is harder to find. But it is indestructible, adamantine, and it sparkles when it comes into the light. Trust this. Never give up. You have work to do and joy to behold and love to send and to receive. Please do. You have come all this way, not for nothing. It's never too late. Not now.

Why Work So Hard?
Dear Ones -
We are a bit late with this post, because we have been helping Ker write the new website (much excitement in the wings! It's not done yet!). Here is the thing we want to tell you, and her if she will listen: It doesn't always have to be so hard. Humans have a knack for creating difficulty. We wonder if perhaps it isn't difficult enough to be human without making it worse? What in the world do we mean?
When someone hurts your feelings, do you dwell on the hurt and the feelings that arise from it? Or do you shake it off and let your truth be your own guide, rather than reacting to another person's distortions? Sometimes it is easier to shake it off, and sometimes it takes time to sort out and return to balance.
Can we just say this? When you can shake it off easily, please do. When it takes more time to sort out, don't be lazy. Take care of yourself, but take any opportunity of the moment to move along and come back to a balanced place. Balance is an option. Make it so.
When you have a job to do, do you let it overwhelm you? Do you distract yourself with games and worries and social media baloney? Or do you break it down into manageable chunks, doing the hard bits when you have the energy and the easy bits when things feel more difficult? Do you ever just say to yourself hey, let's get this done!? It is an option.
Furthermore, may we suggest, that when things get heavy and sloggish and hard, when you feel lost and alone or like giving up, that you take a few moments and close your eyes and breathe, and call for help. Just call out in your mind and your heart, ask for help.
It doesn't have to be a god thing, or a spirit guide thing, or an angel, although it could be all of those. It could be asking to see what can be done, who to check in with, asking for your own courageous heart to come to your side. You could ask that things be made easier. Sometimes this looks like it came from outside, but sometimes it is just stepping back into the Flow of things, of Life.
You might be forgetting, from time to time, that although life is difficult in places, and sometimes quite a lot, that you don't need to make it worse. You can ask yourself: Am I making this worse? Can I just let this one go? Do I really have to make this so hard? Can I relax and allow myself to just go where I need to go?
Remember there is all the love in the Universe at your disposal. Use a little of it on your own behalf from time to time, and maybe you'll get some things taken care of that have been bothering you. And maybe some other things won't always be so hard.
With love,
BlueStar and Counsel of Light

On Risks
Good day dear humans!
We want to say a little bit about taking risks today.
Many people are what they might call risk-averse. Many people are what they might call daring. But however you identify, we say look carefully at what you are doing and you will see that everyone is both of these, each day.
it is a risk to get out of bed, also a risk to stay in bed. If you get up, anything could happen in your day. You might make mistakes. You might have success. You might trip and stumble. You might have your best hair day yet. Someone you love might die today. It could even be you.
Staying in bed brings with it similar possibilities. You might finally get some rest. You might miss something fantastic out there in the world. You might not get wet if it rains. You might soil the bed if you don't get up at all. You might have a stroke of genius, having taken time to relax. You might spend the day in the grip of anxiety, not freeing it from your body through movement and space. People die in bed, too.
What we are saying is that everything is a bold adventure and everything has risk. Everything has the potential to be boring as heck. No matter what you do, life is full of incalculable possibilities, and here is the thing: nothing ever turns out as you think. Ever. There will always be surprises, plot twists, accidents of nature and of fate. If only you hadn't left the house five minutes early or late, you would not have been in that accident or met the love of your life.
It is all a big crapshoot, as they say, so what are you waiting for? Mistakes will be made, synchronicity will occur, love will fade, joy will flourish, something unusual will pop up in the most unexpected places. Will it be a volunteer plant in your garden, a flower or vegetable you will be glad to see? Or will it be a tumor, taking you on a journey to fight for your life? And how will you choose to move forward on days like this?
All you can really do is make choices. But not the ones you suppose. You can choose to face your experience or you can try to hide (both are a valid response). You can choose the big picture or the minutiae. You can choose to go right or left, some of the time, or backwards or forwards or halt. But everything is moving, with or without your permission, so you don't get to control it by your will. What you do receive is possibility and the capacity to say to yourself: OK, this is not what I want, but I can handle it. Or: WOW, that went better than I thought! Or: Hey, let's see what we can make of this (like the semi-random tiles of your turn in the game of Scrabble). (Think about it, that game. What a good name for it. What a metaphor.)
All of this is in aid of simply pointing out that you are not in control. Whatever you are aiming for, it has the element of surprise, with everything else. That is no reason not to try. Also no reason to keep going in some direction you decided on back then. You may have destiny, you may have free will, and so does everyone else, and the earth keeps turning in space. So, knowing this, what do you choose?
